Greener Pastures Jocularity and Jaunty, born April 30, 2006.  We've seen lambs like Jaunty before, but Jock was quite a surprise!
Later that same day in a fresh pasture:
Autumn 2006:  As expected, the black lamb above (Jock) faded to a typical brown mouflon, while still retaining his white markings.   He is shown below at 8 months of age grazing near a typical light mouflon ram lamb, and Jock's fleece has faded to a dark brown, his black facial markings faded to a dark brown, his light brown underbelly faded to the typical light underbelly, and his legs are now the typical tricolor found on typical mouflon Soay sheep.  I expect his fleece to be a typical dark brown after his first rooing in 2007.
Spring 2008:  I have not been tending to this page as I would have liked to.  We lost Jock to an accident, unfortunately.  But Jaunty turned out very nice; in the photo below he is the white faced, VERY wide horned ram just behind that blonde ram on the left...  if you count horns, Jaunty is the 3rd head from the left.  Better photos below.

Greener Pastures Jaunty

Greener Pastures Jaunty is a wide horned American Soay ram born in 2006 and a proven sire.  He was born a twin, and had a spectacularly colored brother.  Jaunty is shown below, 3rd ram from the left, on July 12, 2008.  He is for sale:  $100.  Jaunty is unregistered, but comes with a detailed pedigree if you wish to register him.

Photos below of him as a lamb, and further photos of Jaunty as an adult.
