Rimridge Jake is one of the rams we imported from Alberta in 2002.  Jake is an American Soay ram registered with SOA.  He was born a twin, has wonderfully wide horns, beautiful coloring, and a very dark and very fine fleece.  He's a handsome specimen of a ram and has given us some beautiful offspring in 2003.  We had just a few lambs available in 2003 sired by Jake.  I utilized him a 2nd year on all of our  MacRae line ewes, giving us a crop of fabulous lambs in 2004.

Beautiful stance, beautiful horns, beautiful fleece!
Jon is giving Jake his "pedicure" in February 2003.  This photograph is noteworthy to me because I've heard so many times that "if you can get your finger between a ram's horn and cheek, then it's ok."  Nonsense!  Here are some exceptionally wide horns, and my husband's LEG is between his horn and cheek!
Jon gives Jake a hoof trim in Feb 2003. Notice Jon's leg between Jake's horn and cheek. Now those are good horns! Click here to see more about Jake.
