Greener Pastures Farm
Soay Sheep Breeding Stock For Sale

See below for photos of rams available.

Shown at right:

Greener Pastures Crown of Thorns,
son of the large, black Jesse James,
and Crown's dam was the renowned
Zoe of the Westwood line. Zoe lived to
age 14 and produced twins in her last
year. Crown has very wide horns.

Too late! We ate him after we utilized
his genetics. You really do need to act
fast to get our sheep...  we have produced so many fabulous sheep that we are accustomed to eating handsome rams and gorgeous ewes.

If you would like to discuss a ram purchase with us, give us a call! You pick up at our farm in Camas, Washington (near Vancouver, WA). Local delivery can be arranged for a fee.

We can also recommend two Soay sheep breeders in our area; Blue Mountain Farm in La Grande, Oregon and Little River Circle M Farm.  Both have purchased breeding stock from us in the past and have added genetics from other farms.

Greener Pastures Flock Sires

you like, you can reserve him now and purchase him after we have utilized his genetics in our own flock.

Greener Pastures Bloodlines
Click here to view the different bloodlines we have had, as well as their distinct characteristics.  Many of these lines are preserving polled and scurred genetics, which are rapidly becoming lost in North America.

We are no longer breeding Soay sheep, American or British.  We have moved on to an improved breed that meets our high criteria for realistic farmers who insist upon ease of management in a small package, as well as more high quality meat per lb of feed.  Please visit our Cascade Farmstead Sheep pages for further information.

Above, from left to right: 3 Cascade rams, a British Soay ram, the back end of American Soay ram Greener Pastures Revel, and 2 more British Soay rams. This photo does not compare apples to apples...  the Cascade rams are only 10 months old and not fully grown, whereas the Soays are all 3 and 4 years old and now fully grown.

Below right:  Greener Pastures Revel, an American Soay from the Phalen bloodline stands proudly out front. One of my "lavender" Cascade rams gives us a profile, and my last 3 British Soay rams look on from the back; Greener Pastures Allegro, Debonaire and Vibrant. The latter 2 are reserved. Allegro and Revel will both be available in mid- to late-December 2009. Allegro's RBST registration paperwork was apparently not processed, so it would be unwise to breed him to British Soay sheep.  Feb 2009
