October 23, 2000 - English Soays arrive at Greener Pastures Farm.  Our 5 ewes and 2 rams were chosen before they left Canada, and the week long trip was nearly as stressful on us as it was on our sheep!  Southern Oregon Soay Farms received their portion of the English flock the day before, then the truck came to Greener Pastures Farm to deliver ours.  The ancestors of these sheep, 2 rams and 4 ewes, had been imported from England into Canada in 1990 by Phoenix, and the remaining ewes, rams and lambs were being dispersed in the autumn of 2000, with the flock being sold to 5 different people in the US and Canada.  One lone ewe was already held by a 6th farm as of this date.
