BLOODLINES OF CASCADE FARMSTEAD SHEEP
Much planning went into the production of this breed. Utilizing the flock containing the widest gene pool found in Soay sheep at the time, as well as extensive selection for premium Icelandic ewes of high productivity, three bloodlines were planned before the first breedings took place. They are:
- ALPHA - This bloodline is currently showing some of the lighter colors found in Cascade Farmstead sheep, such as blonde and lavender gray, white with markings, and some badgerface patterns.
- BETA - This bloodline is currently showing mostly medium to dark browns in typical mouflon pattern, but has potential for other markings and patterns.
- OMEGA - This bloodline is currently showing solid black, black with white markings, black mouflon, dark mouflon and even some lavender gray.
The links below show a number of photos from each bloodline.
