Greener Pastures Farm is attempting to produce honey in the Camas and Washougal area of SW Washington.

However, we are currently in need of bees!  Circumstances and timing prevented me from purchasing bees this year, and disability prevents me from catching my own swarms. If you are local and can catch swarms, I very much need your services! Please contact me if you can help!
Two of our hives in the orchard.  I used a nontoxic finish on the exteriors of these gorgeous hives.  April 2004

2009 update: this finish did not work out. New photos of my painted hives are coming!
Like all other aspects of our farm and livestock, our Apiary is small and easy to handle.  We started with beautiful and well-made hives that were scaled down to a more manageable size for people not willing or able to do a lot of heavy lifting.

Our first attempt at keeping bees took place in 2004, and these lovely hives were treated with a nontoxic finish.  Unfortunately, it didn't work out; the finish or the type of bees I chose.  This year I painted 2 of my four hives a very soft green, and am hoping some kind local beekeeper is willing to sell a few swarms.

We are utilizing the small cell management techniques in order to keep our bees without the toxic products commonly used in beekeeping.

These hives are the English Garden hives. If you are looking for this particular hive for your own apiary, I purchased mine here.

Photos and color information of my newly painted hives are coming.
